Financial Aid
Chicago GSB is committed to providing financial aid to all students. U.S. and foreign national students can apply for aid. Financial aid is calculated based on a standardized cost of attendance including room and board, books and other expenses for three academic quarters (nine months).
The GSB Office of Admissions and Financial Aid will send an award letter to students receiving financial assistance showing the amount of aid they will receive.
The GSB offers several types of financial assistance:
-
Scholarships and Fellowships - All admitted Full-Time MBA students are considered for a
merit-based award.
Scholarships and fellowships are awarded based on academic profile, intended concentration, strength of overall admissions application, evaluations provided by application readers, quality of interview, and competitiveness. Scholarship and fellowship amounts generally range from $15,000 to $25,000 per year for two years.
- Student loans for U.S. Citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents - There are four loan programs available to full-time MBA students.
- Federal Stafford Student Loan - The Federal Stafford loan is available to U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents who enroll in two or more courses each quarter.
- Federal Perkins Loan - The Federal Perkins loan is limited to full-time second year campus students only.
- Federal GradPLUS loan- Graduate/professional students can apply for the Federal GradPLUS loan. The Federal GradPLUS loan is a credit-based loan and is subject to the same rules and regulations as all other federal financial aid programs. The Federal GradPLUS loan is used in place of the private alternative loan.
- Private, credit-based alternative loans- All students can apply for a private, credit-based alternative loan. Students can borrow up to the cost of attendance (which is set by the financial aid office) minus any other financial assistance. The private alternative loan is used in place of the Federal GradPLUS loan.
- Student Loans for International Students - Chicago GSB is committed to providing financing opportunities for all students regardless of their citizenship. The GSB has established a guaranteed loan program for international students who do not have a U.S. cosigner. Students can borrow funds up to the costs of attendance less any other financial aid received. More information regarding the program will be sent to students upon admission to the program.
